A Quinte West man is in custody following a serious assault.
Quinte West OPP responded to the Tim Hortons on Division Street in Trenton around 10 a.m. Thursday morning where a male with a weapon was reportedly making threats.
Two men were able to tackle the suspect in the parking lot and held him until police arrived.
Officers arrested the individual without incident.
Forty-year-old Brian Vachon of Quinte West is charged with:
- Sexual assault with a weapon
- Assault with a weapon – two counts
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose – two counts
- Forcible confinement
- Fail to comply with a probation order
Vachon was remanded into custody with a future court date before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
