For Belleville’s Mila Gretzky, much of her life has been surrounded by hockey.
Her father Brent and uncles Keith and Wayne all played the game at the highest level, but for Mila, the sport of choice was soccer.
Her first experience with the game came with Timbits in Belleville, where she fell in love with the sport.
As she grew up, the family called many communities home, but the one constant was her desire to compete at the highest level.
Gretzky would leave high school in Brantford, with a D1 commitment to play soccer for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in NCAA.
She has now completed her schooling and her focus is to coach and teach the sport she loves.
Gretzky is now the Belleville coordinator for Sports Stars, which teaches soccer to children of all ages and skill levels.
