Northumberland OPP have made arrests in two separate incidents of assault.
During the noon hour on Tuesday, police received a report of an assault resulting in minor injuries which had occurred near a school in the Municipality of Trent Hills.
Investigation led the arrest of a 14-year-old Trent Hills youth.
The incident was referred to an Extrajudicial Measures Program under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
And just after midnight on Wednesday, an officer was patrolling Victoria Street in the Township of Cramahe, when they located an individual who was walking and believed to be connected to an earlier traffic complaint regarding an all-terrain vehicle.
Police say the suspect was intoxicated and attempted to assault an officer while resisting arrest.
Twenty-four-year-old John McGourty of Colborne is charged with assault a peace officer, resist a peace officer and being intoxicated in a public place.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
