The annual Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair is set to take place on April 5, 2025 at Centennial Secondary School, continuing a proud tradition that has inspired aspiring young scientists since 1960. Registration remains open until March 29. Participants from across the region are gearing up to showcase their innovative projects, uncovering the mysteries of science and technology.
This year promises an engaging atmosphere where creativity and scientific inquiry coalesce, as budding scientists from various backgrounds present their research and inventions. The day includes public viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., where the community can witness firsthand the remarkable work of youth in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The awards ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Centennial’s auditorium.
“This event is vital for fostering interest in STEM among our young minds,” said event organizer Scott Berry. “It not only provides a platform for students to present their work but also encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for future innovators.”
From the array of exhibits and awards, five exceptional students will be selected to advance to the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Fredericton, taking place in May. These talented individuals will represent Quinte’s continued commitment to scientific advancement and exploration, creating opportunities for further development and exposure in the scientific community.
Local businesses and community sponsors play an essential role in making the fair possible, providing robust support for educational initiatives. Volunteers from various walks of life assist with the event’s organization, judging, and mentorship—making a direct impact on the students’ experience.
In the spirit of innovation and community engagement, the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair stands out as a highlight on the regional calendar, reaffirming its significance as a nurturing ground for young minds ambitious for change. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register before the March 29 deadline.
