The Belleville Senators defeated the Bridgeport Islanders 6-1 on Friday night.
Angus Crookshank, Tyler Boucher, Jeremy Davies, Maxence Guenette, Keean Washkurak, and Xavier Bourgault scored for the Senators.
The Senators took an early lead with two unanswered first period goals, with a third goal in the second period. In the third, the Senators scored again before the Islanders grabbed their one and only of the night. After that, the Senators came back for two more goals, extending their lead and winning the game.
Belleville Senators head coach Dave Bell says he doesn’t want the team getting too comfortable after the win.
“I’m never satisfied, I’m a grumpy guy. But, you know what, to get six goals is good and the energy was good,” said Coach Bell. “There are still some puck management issues I’d like to clean up as we build our game towards the playoffs. But it’s nice to get one where you’re not biting your nails at the end of the game. It was a nice win.”
The Senators are back in action on Saturday, hosting the Islanders for game two at CAA Arena.
