The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton has coordinated a rescue for a stranded snowmobile driver who was stuck on thin ice.
On Friday, search and rescue workers were called to the area near Cap Fraternité, Quebec. The Canadian Coast Guard vessel Amundsen was attempting to help the stranded man, but could not get close enough.
A CC-130j Hercules from 424 Transport and Rescue Squadron in Trenton arrived on scene and remained overhead as a Cormorant helicopter was able to hoist the man to safety.
After the man was rescued, he was taken to 3 Wing Bagotville Quebec, where emergency medical services were waiting for him.
