Two people are facing charges after police seized drugs and a large amount of cash in Belleville this week.
Wednesday, Project Renewal officers, the Belleville Police Service Emergency Response Unit and K9 Unit conducted a vehicle stop and executed a search warrant at an address in Belleville’s west end.
Police seized:
• 4.196 kilograms of methamphetamine
• 160.7 grams of cocaine
• 0.4 grams of Fentanyl
• $142,780.00 in Canadian currency
• Two cell phones
• Digital scales
• Packaging materials
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested 39-year-old Jeff Wood and 58-year-old Cheryl Wood, both of Belleville.
Each of them is charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Jeff Wood was held for bail and Cheryl Wood was released on an undertaking.
