The Wellington Dukes kept their hopes of finishing fourth in the OJHL East alive with an emphatic 8-1 rout of the Rangers in North York.
Ryan Schaap scored twice to hit the 30-goal mark while Cory Jewitt scored the first and last goals of the game.
The win moves the Dukes into a fourth place tie with Stouffville, however, the Spirit have one game in hand.
Wellington has two games left.
They’re in Aurora Thursday night before hosting the Tigers in the final game of the regular season on Friday.
Huskies and Raiders think sweep but Pirates swept
In Junior C playoffs the Frankford Huskies hammered the North Kawartha Knights 11-1 to go up 3-0 in their best-of-seven series.
Riley Grimmon, Ben Smith and Heiden Leonard scored twice.
The potential deciding game is tonight (Wednesday) in Apsley.
The Napanee Raiders might also be thinking sweep after their 8-1 victory over the Trent Hills Thunder.
Ben White, Carter Hartwick and Jackson Barnes led the way with two goals.
Game 4 is Thursday night in Campbellford.
And it’s four and out for the Picton Pirates after a 3-2 loss to the Lakefield Chiefs.
