Quinte Conservation has announced it has appointed City of Quinte West Councillor Don Kuntze as chair of the
executive board at its first meeting of 2025 on Thursday.
Kuntze will serve a two-year term, leading the board through 2025 and 2026.
At the same meeting, Quinte Conservation appointed City of Belleville Councillor Chris Malette as vice-chair.
Councillor Malette previously served as chair of the board from 2023 to 2024.
“Since joining Quinte Conservation, by appointment from Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison in 2018, I have come to learn that the staff, management team and fellow board members are all incredibly dedicated to our waterways and lands where we live,” says Kuntze in a press release.
“With Chris Malette at my side, I hope to continue to educate the public about water and nature, keep Quinte Conservation team members motivated, and will keep talking with the provincial government to hear our message that they work with us on protecting water and nature. If we can do that, then our citizens will benefit.”
Select staff members were also recognized for reaching milestones through their years of service, as well as their contributions to Quinte Conservation.
