A Quinte area business is not just providing financial assistance, but is also using the power of video.
A1 Plumbing, Pumps & Water Treatment in Quinte West has launched a new storytelling initiative called “In the Community Series.”
Each month, three local charities are highlighted and voted on. One winner will receive $500, along with the production of a high-quality video, through Lavender Lane Media.
The goal of the video is to capture the mission and impact of the charity.
A1 co-owner Jeff Mckerracher says it is important for businesses to give back whenever they can.
Audio Player“We’ve never lost money by giving it away so to speak. By making a donation, by getting involved in the community, it always gets returned back to us in some way.”
“That video is such an asset to these organizations that can go and then useit for funding, maybe with the United Way or just to raise their awareness in the community.”
The December 2024 winner of the “A1 In the Community Series” was the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation.
Jenn Barrett with the foundation says the funding will be directed to Food For Learning. She says the funding was generous.
Audio Player” But then to learn we were the first charity to have this additional bonus of the video component was pretty exciting.”
