The annual Coldest Night of the Year walk is fast approaching.
So far the fundraiser has raised $18,800, which is approximately 25% of their $75,000 goal.
The walk is set to take place on the night of February 22. So far, 139 walkers are registered across 47 teams to walk through Belleville’s streets in support of Grace Inn shelter.
Proceeds from this year’s walk will be going towards day-to-day operations at the shelter, including meal and clothing programs.
Grace Inn Board of Directors chairman Jodie Jenkins said he’s confident they will hit their goal.
“Historically, the last two weeks before the event is when you start to see a real push with donations,” said Jenkins. “We also have a lot of teams that show up on the day of, with donations that they’ve received.”
Coldest night walks take place across Canada, benefitting local charities.
