A Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CC-130J Hercules from 424 Transport & Rescue Squadron at 8 Wing Trenton will conduct a flypast over the funeral service for Major (Retired) Robert “Bob” Doan on Saturday.
The flypast will take place over Weaver Funeral Home at 29 Bay Street, Trenton at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Major Doan served in the RCAF in many parts of the world and was also very involved in his community as a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Air Force Association, past president of both Air Force Wing 415 of Canada and FSNA Trenton, in addition to spending many years with the Canadian Air Force Cadet program.
The CC-130J Hercules is a four-engine, fixed-wing turboprop aircraft that is used for a wide range of missions including personnel transport, search-and-rescue, tactical airlift, and aircrew training.
The aircraft will fly at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle on their route.
