Four people have been charged as part a of a major drug bust in Cobourg that resulted in the seizure of more than $240,000 worth of drugs.
Cobourg Police Service began an investigation into drug activity at 351 and 353 John Street.
Thursday, police executed a search warrant at the addresses where they located:
• Approximately 344.5 grams of fentanyl
• Approximately 125 grams of cocaine
• Approximately 46 grams of heroin
• Approximately 3.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine
• $2,852 Canadian currency
• Four crossbows
• Several imitation firearms
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $240,625.
Police say the amount of fentanyl seized is equivalent to 3,445 potentially fatal doses.
Cobourg residents Mark Gordon (36), Shauna Wilson (36), Kayla Gibson (29) and Andrew Puffer (39) are jointly charged with:
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Gordon was also charged with:
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – heroin
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – crystal methamphetamine
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Produce a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)
• Possession of weapon contrary to prohibition order
Wilson was also charged with:
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – heroin
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – crystal methamphetamine
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Produce a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)
• Possession of weapon contrary to prohibition order
All four were held in custody for a bail hearing.
