Heavy winds caused lots of headaches for emergency responders Monday evening.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen says between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., they responded to multiple calls for downed power lines, a tree that fell into a house on White’s Road, three collisions, and a structure fire on Wilson Road (just off Frankford Road).
In regards to the fire, the winds fanned the flames of the chimney fire, making it hard to extinguish.
There is no word on injuries at this time, but damage is estimated at $50,000.
