Staff at Quinte Health hospitals and elsewhere continue to adapt to a powerful new computer system called Lumeo clinical information system.
Chief of the Medical Staff Dr. Colin MacPherson says staff are taking longer to do some tasks on the new system as they learn how to use it.
LUMEO has been proven very effective in improving patient care in many jurisdictions.
It has recently been launched across six hospital organizations including Quinte Health and the Kingston Health Sciences Centre and will serve a population of 650,000.
With Lumeo, a patient’s medical records are instantly available to staff at 33 healthcare sites in the region.
Meanwhile, Quinte Health’s board of directors hopes to add more directors in the near future.
Current board members Nancy Evans, Gary Mitchell and Christian Sauvageau are retiring and need to be replaced, and another director will be selected for flexibility.
Among the skills being sought by the board are previous governance experience with a complex organization and
basic financial competency. Community leadership and connections are also seen as desirable.
The board currently lacks a member from North Hastings.
The deadline for applications is March 7.
