The provincial government is providing money to help Lennox and Addington OPP provide enhanced service to those suffering a mental health crisis.
Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee announced over $112,000 Friday allowing police
to use trained crisis workers alongside officers when responding to incidents involving people in distress.
Bresee says the money will go to the Mobile Crisis Response Team and help de-escalate potentially tense situations.
The grant is part of the province’s Roadmap to Wellness.
