A small manufacturing company in Quinte West has closed its doors.
Miltex Solutions Canada on Gotha Street in Trenton informed its 25-30 employees last week that it had been sold to FELLFAB, a 73 year-old Canadian company with operations in Hamilton and subsidiaries in the U.S.
Miltex had supplied custom textile products to the military, including parachutes, drone parachutes, shelters, and tactical gear.
FELLFAB manufactures similar products and the Trenton production will move to Hamilton.
A FELLFAB company officials says they have hired certain employees and continue to talk to additional staff about roles with FELLFAB.
A source indicates that the owners of the Gotha Street building will look for a new tenant.
