Councillors and municipal staff have held a statutory public meeting regarding a new planned subdivision in the wellington area.
During Wednesday’s Planning and Development Committee meeting, details were shared about a planned development along Loyalist Parkway.
The nearly 4 hectare property stretches between the road and the shore of Lake Ontario. A preliminary site plan consists of 22 single homes, a block of 32 townhouses, and a public park.
Several residents living nearby spoke up with concerns about the development. Some common concerns they raised included the cost for water infrastructure to service the new homes, the potential for trespassing along privately owned coastline, and that a road to service the development was proposed to cross through land owned by other residents.
After the public meeting, municipal staff took information provided by the developer and will return to council with recommendations at a later meeting.
