The delegation from Quinte West made their case for more financial support from the provincial government for basic infrastructure projects at the annual Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference in Toronto this week.
City staff along, with councillors Duncan Armstrong and Shelley Stedall, stressed the need for provincial dollars to complete $58 million upgrades to the Trenton sewage treatment plant and water/sewer work in the Second Dug Hill Road area.
Provincial government officials took the request into consideration.
Stedall tells Quinte News this year’s conference was a good one.
“She said there could be something coming in the future from grants so it sounds as if the province understands the infrastructure needs and there would be something but there was nothing specific.”
The province did announce money would become available for infrastructure, policing, and economic development.
