The person charged with two counts each of dangerous driving causing death and impaired driving causing death in a 2021 crash in Quinte West is on trial in a Belleville courtroom.
Aysar Younes of Quinte West, 23 at the time of the October 2021 collision, was arrested following an investigation into the two-vehicle crash on Old Highway 2 near 8 Wing Trenton.
A 23-year-old Belleville woman and a 22-year-old Quinte West woman were in one of the vehicles and both were killed.
The Superior Court trial is scheduled for two weeks and is being presided over by Madame Justice Kristin Muszynski.
