A 22-year-old was charged with stunt driving on Highway 401 in Northumberland County Friday.
Police say the G1 licensed driver, who wasn’t accompanied by a qualified driver, was clocked at 166 kmh in the westbound lanes.
The driver claimed they were just trying to get around a truck.
Police suspended the driver’s licence for 30 days, and impounded the vehicle for seven days. There will also be a substantial fine upon conviction.
