The Haliburton Huskies slipped past the Wellington Dukes 5-4 in double overtime on Saturday.
Ben Vreugdenhil, Zennon Edwards, Carson Littlejohn, and Ryan Schaap scored for the Dukes.
The Huskies got the game off to a strong start with two back-to-back first-period goals, before the Dukes came back to take two of their own and bring a 2-2 tie into the second. During the second period, the Dukes slipped ahead with an unanswered goal. In the third, the Dukes took one more goal before the Huskies grabbed two and evened the score once again with less than two minutes left on the clock. The teams went first into overtime, and then double overtime, before the Huskies slipped in a goal and took the game.
The Dukes will play again on Tuesday against the Markham Royals.
