The Kay Stafford Legacy
Kay Stafford, a postal worker who lived modestly, left $1.2 million to the TMHF in her will when she passed away in 1996. This generous gift established the Kay Stafford Community Grant, which has since distributed nearly $2 million to over 100 community groups. From life–saving defibrillators to mental health programs, seniors’ care, bursaries to high school students pursuing health care education and TMH staff taking continuing education courses, Kay’s generous legacy continues to make a lasting impact on local health and well–being.
“Kay Stafford’s vision and compassion continue to benefit our community to this day,” says Lindsay Butcher Dodds, executive director of TMHF. “Her legacy reminds us that planned giving is a powerful way to support future generations.”
