Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) says almost $80,000 in contraband was seized this week at Joyceville Institution in Kingston.
A package containing items including tobacco, marijuana, shatter (cannabis concentrate), hashish and cellphone accessories was intercepted at the multi-level security federal institution on Tuesday.
The estimated institutional value of these seizures is $79,785.
CSC has heightened measures to prevent contraband from entering its institutions and works in partnership with police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband or unauthorized items to correctional institutions.
The CSC did not say if any charges have been laid in connection with the seizure.
