The Hastings County Community and Human Services Committee is recommending to Hastings County Council that they approve a tender for construction that would bring a 32-unit Housing Services building to Trenton.
It would be located at 20 South Street.
The tender is being awarded to Dalren Limited for their stipulated price of $12.7 million plus HST.
Dalren beat six other bids to win the tender.
“A reference check was conducted as part of the tender review process and Dalren Limited was found to meet the requirements of the tender,” Matt Carty, director of Facilities and Capital Infrastructure, stated in his report to the committee.
“The company received strong reference checks from other municipalities who have undertaken affordable housing projects with this contractor.”
The project is expected to break ground in April 2025 with a projected completion date of October 2026.
