It didn’t come down to the last second but it was close.
Wyatt Bongiovanni completed his hat trick with three seconds left in regulation as the Belleville Senators exacted revenge from Friday’s loss with a 4-3 win over the visiting Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
It was Bongiovanni’s second hat trick in three games.
Bongiovanni now has 12 goals on the season.
Stephen Halliday (8th) added a goal and two assists for Belleville as Michael Simpson stopped 25 shots for his first AHL victory.
Belleville is on the road for three games this week beginning Wednesday night at Lehigh Valley.
