The City of Belleville has announced that Victoria Harbour and West Zwick’s Park Cove are now open for skating.
In a release, the city says parks staff measured the ice and it is now nine to ten inches thick at both locations and is safe for skating.
Both locations have lighting that will be on every night from 5 to 11 p.m.
Once there is a consistent 10 inches of ice, the city will then start to bring equipment on the ice to smooth it out.
The city is recommending skaters wear a helmet and watch out for bumpy portions of ice.
