The City of Belleville has announced that the Victoria Harbour and the West Zwick’s Park Cove are now open for skating.
In a release, the city says parks staff measured the ice and it is now 9 – 10 inches thick at both locations and is safe for skating.
Both locations have lighting that will be on every night from 5 to 11 p.m.
Once there is a consistent 10 inches of ice, the city will then start to bring equipment on the ice to smooth it out.
The city is recommending would be skaters to wear a helmet and watch out for bumpy portions of ice.
