Lennox and Addington OPP officers have arrested two people after stopping a vehicle for speeding.
On Thursday, shortly before midnight, a vehicle was seen speeding in Loyalist Township. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested two people after finding open alcohol. A search of the vehicle then located suspected cocaine, suspected crack cocaine, suspected LSD, and suspected MDMA.
Bridget Docherty, a 30-year-old from St. Catherines, and a 17-year-old youth from St. Catherines who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act were both charged with six counts of posession of drugs for trafficking, and posession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Docherty was additionally charged with speeding, driving with an open alcoholic beverage, and posession of unmarked cigarettes.
The 17-year-old was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with a probation order.
The adult accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee, while the youth was held pending a bail hearing.
