Six Quinte West residents are facing drug trafficking charges after an investigation by Ontario Provincial Police’s East Region Community Street Crime Unit.
The CSCU, with the assistance of Emergency Response Team members, the Canine Unit and Quinte West OPP members, executed a search warrant at a home on Adrian Court in the City of Quinte West.
Six people were taken into custody.
Officers seized over 17 grams of suspected cocaine, nearly 14 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and over $800 in cash.
Also seized were cell phones, a digital scale, and a digital video recorder.
Twenty-four-year-old Scott Martin of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Thirty-three-year-old Erica Varley of Quinte West was charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
- Fail to comply with probation order
Fifty-five-year-old Bradley Dickens, 46-year-old Crissy Moore, 55-year-old Shannon Reid, and 40-year-old Amanda Young, all of Quinte West, were charged with two counts each of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Martin and Young were held for a bail hearing and remanded in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville at a later date.
Varley, Dickens, Moore and Reid were released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville at a later date.
