A Belleville man is facing charges in Prince Edward County after a stunt driving incident.
Officers from the Prince Edward County OPP were doing a traffic enforcement program at 4 a.m. on December 27 when they found a car driving above the speed limit. The vehicle was clocked at 135 kilometres per hour in a posted 8o kilometre zone.
Officers stopped the vehicle and charged a Belleville man with stunt driving.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of Justice on January 17.
The OPP are reminding drivers that stunt driving is not just dangerous, it is also costly. Officers are fully committed to public safety and are always out enforcing the rules of the road.
