The Syracuse Crunch edged the Belleville Senators 3-2 on Friday night.
Tyler Boucher and Matthew Highmore scored for the Senators.
While neither team could make it past the goalies in the first period, the Crunch came out with a blitz early in the second that got them three goals. The Senators bounced back with a goal later in the frame and an extra goal in the third, but couldn’t catch up, leaving the Crunch with the win.
Belleville Sens head coach Dave Bell said that he has high hopes for the team’s next game.
“I was extremely proud of the guys; the morale didn’t drop on the bench, they wanted to rally, they wanted to find a way to get those goals back and make things right, but at the end of the day it’s a loss,” said Coach Bell. “But a lot of positive things come out of that.”
The Senators are back in action tonight against the Utica Comets.
