Belleville police responded to 119 calls for service from 5 a.m. on December 31, 2024 to 5 a.m. to January 2, 2025.
Impaired driving
On December 31, 2024 at 7 p.m., an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Cannifton Road. The officer observed the driver showing signs of impairment and conducted a roadside breath test, which the driver failed. James McMullen, 43, of Belleville was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a conveyance over 80mgs. He was released with a January 30, 2025 court date.
Breach of conditions
On December 31, 2024, police received a call regarding a male breaching his release conditions. The complainant advised that her ex had been attempting to contact her, and he attended her residence which is a breach of his release conditions stemming from a previous domestic assault-related investigation. The male fled the area upon police arrival; however, on January 1, 2025, he turned himself in to police. The 30-year-old Kingston man was held for a bail hearing on January 2, 2025
Stolen vehicle
On January 1, 2025 at 1:15 p.m., Belleville police received a complaint regarding a stolen vehicle. The complainant advised that a 1993 black GMC pickup truck with licence plate BK32234 was stolen from a driveway on Station Street sometime between Monday, December 30 at 12 p.m. and January 1 at 9 a.m. Anyone with information regarding this vehicle is asked to call the Belleville Police Service.
