Beginning in the summer of 2024, members of the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit began investigating an individual suspected to be attending Kingston for the sole purpose of trafficking illicit drugs.
The investigation culminated with a traffic stop on December 22, 2024, in the area of Division Street and Highway 401. Upon searching the vehicle, which was being operated by the individual under investigation, officers located a large quantity of cocaine with an estimated street value of $100,000.
A 42-year-old Kitchener individual was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule 1 substance.
An influx of drugs from a dealer originating from another city is a serious issue for any community. This often signifies organized drug trafficking, which has far-reaching implications for public safety, community well-being, and law enforcement.
