There is no shortage of projects for the Township of Stirling-Rawdon to tackle in 2025.
Looking ahead at the year to come, Mayor Bob Mullin says while they haven’t finalized the 2025 capital budget, he hopes they’ll be able to begin focussing on several bridges that need attention.
“We’ve got three bridges that are really beyond their practical lifespan on sideroads that need to be replaced. When we have blockages of Highway 14 we really have no alternative routes that are capable of carrying transports. It’s a real problem.”
Mullin says they hope to address a drainage issue in Springbrook, and the ball diamonds in Stirling and Springbrook also need to be upgraded.
Mullin says Stirling-Rawdon is facing substantial growth in 2025.
A small, 15-home subdivision, approved for the town late last month, is just the tip of the iceberg.
“There’s a couple of larger subdivisions that we’re working our way through, they’re substantially larger. The apartment building on West Front Street, we expect to see the footings going in in the spring for that. That’s a 30-unit apartment building.”
There is also a subdivision in Springbrook that is in the approval stages.
