With 2025 just days away, Quinte News asked what the future holds for the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board.
Executive Director Dug Stevenson spoke to Quinte News about their plans for the new year.
One major priority is the ongoing initiatives in bringing film production to the region. The next step in that process is to get the local municipalities to put policies in place in how the municipal government deals with filmmakers.
Some projects may need to request help from municipal services such as police, and these policies will allow the municipality to both provide and charge for those services.
“What we’re hoping to do as a group is for everybody to have everything approved through their respective councils by spring of 2025,” said Stevenson. “We’re hoping to have all that more or less completed by then, so then we can start an actual marketing attraction and awareness campaign about filming in the Bay of Quinte.”
The board is planning to bring in film and television professionals to help with the upcoming marketing campaign, in order to showcase the benefits of the region most important to filmmakers.
