Quinte News is looking back to 2024.
We spoke with the president of Quinte Health Stacey Daub about the main challenges and victories of the year that was.
She says there was incredible investment at the Bancroft, Picton, Trenton, and Belleville locations.
“So the groundbreaking (new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital), the announcement of the Trent emerg expansion, and the CT Scanner being implemented in Bancroft. Just the fact that we were able to invest in all of our hospitals to make them stronger.”
She says getting good people is always critical in health care.
“We developed a partnership with Loyalist. We put our heads together with their senior leadership team. They pivoted to really become a centre of excellence for growing people who want a career in health care. They have made a dramatic impact for us, from nurses to PSWs, all the way to now medical radiation technologists.”
The growth of the community has led to a lot of demand on the recruitment team at Quinte Health.
Daub says the inpatient unit has almost doubled in much less than a decade.
