It’s been a year of accomplishment in Centre Hastings.
Mayor Tom Deline says the Ministry of Transportation will finish work on the bridge on Russell Street in Madoc opening up Highway 62 through the village.
And a lot of work has been done on the new Clare McFaul Long-Term Care Home along Highway 7.
“One hundred and twenty-eight beds, all one floor and well under construction now. Some of the roof is on and so on. We’re hopeful occupancy is
going to be late 2025 or early 2026.”
Once up and running about 130 people will be employed at the long-term care home.
Mayor Deline says staff is working on three plans of subdivision currently and expect more development plans to come forward in 2025.
