Belleville police responded to 197 calls for service over the weekend beginning at 5 a.m. on December 14, 2024 to 5 a.m. on December 16, 2024.
Weapons & Warrants
On December 13, 2024 at 9 p.m., Belleville police attended a business on Pinnacle Street in regards to a man and woman who refused to leave the store. When police arrived, they discovered that the male suspect involved had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The suspect was taken into custody and upon search of the male, a prohibited weapon was located on his person.
The accused, 40-year-old Shane Larmer of no fixed address, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, breach of weapons prohibition order, and breach of probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing on December 14, 2024 and will reappear in court December 16, 2024.
Impaired Driving
On December 14, 2024, at 12:05 a.m., Belleville police received a complaint of a vehicle being driven all over the road that eventually pulled into a North Front Street business parking lot. Police located the suspect vehicle and spoke to the driver whom police suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service where the suspect provided samples of his breath. The suspect blew over the legal limit and was subsequently charged with operation of a motor vehicle over 80mgs of alcohol. The accused, 46-year-old Justin Hunter of no fixed address, will appear in court in January 2025.
Possess Stolen Property
On December 14, 2024 at 3:30 p.m., Belleville police took a report of a stolen vehicle. The complainant advised police that earlier in the day the complainant loaned his vehicle to a female who agreed to return the vehicle later in the afternoon, which she failed to do. At 10:40 p.m., police located the stolen vehicle on Bridge Street West. Police took the female suspect, 34-year-old Alisha Maille of no fixed address, into custody and charged her with possession of stolen property and breach of probation. The accused was released and will appear in court in January 2025.
R.I.D.E. Impaired Driving Charge
On December 15, 2024, at 12:30 a.m., Belleville police were conducting a R.I.D.E. check in the east end of the city. Police stopped a male driver who was displaying signs of impairment. The suspect driver was given a roadside screening test which he failed and was subsequently arrested. The suspect was taken to the police station and provided samples of his breath, which was determined to be over the legal limit. The accused, 26-year-old Josiah Hollingsworth of Trenton, was charged with impaired driving and operation of a motor vehicle over 80mgs of alcohol. The accused was released and will appear in court on January 16, 2025.
