David Fournier broke a 2-2 tie with 2:31 left in regulation as the Trenton Golden Hawks edged the visiting Lindsay Muskies 4-2.
It was Fournier’s second of the game and 28th of the season which helped Trenton extend its unbeaten streak to 19 games. Devin Mauro iced it with an empty netter to go along with two assists. Cooper Matthews added his 16th.
The Golden Hawks host the Toronto Junior Canadiens on Friday night.
It was an unexpected day off for the Wellington Dukes. Ice problems in Milton forced postponement of their game against the Menace.
Huskies 4 Jets 3
In Junior C hockey Jakob Gardner scored the winner as the Frankford Huskies edged the Amherstview Jets 4-3.
Deke Osterhout had a goal and assist as the Huskies open a four-point lead atop the East Tod Division,
Lakefield downed Trent Hills 7-1.
Tweed 8 Frontenac 3
In the Eastern Ontario Superior Hockey League, Dawson Ellis scored twice and Will Jones had three assists to help the Tweed Oil Kings to a convincing 8-3 victory over the Frontenac Phantoms. The win moves Tweed into a first place tie with the Deseronto Bulldogs in the West Division.
