Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged four people with impaired driving and numerous other offences in separate incidents over the weekend.
On Friday, December 13, 2024, shortly after 8:30 p.m., L&A County OPP members were conducting a RIDE check in the village of Bath when a vehicle turned and fled. An individual was located following a foot pursuit.
Joseph MACDONALD, a 20-year-old from Bath was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
- Dangerous operation
- Flight from peace officer
- Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, just After 3:00 p.m., L&A County OPP were called after a driver was observed using a handheld device and passing on the shoulder of the 401 Highway near Marysville Road. Poli ce located and stopped the vehicle.
Following an investigation, Zeiad SHAARAWY, a 23-year-old from Montreal was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – drug
- Have care or control of a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, just after 9:00 p.m., police were advised of a fail to remain collision in the area of County Road 7 in Loyalist Township. This collision resulted in significant property damage but no injuries. While police were at the scene, an individual returned to the location and was later arrested.
Steveylynn OLIVER, a 35-year-old from Camden East was charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Dangerous operation
- Fail to remain
Also, as result of the same investigation, Douglas OLIVER, a 37-year-old from Camden East was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – drug
- Dangerous operation
All of the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 7, 2025.
Their driver’s licences were suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded.
