The Rochester Americans dismantled the Belleville Senators 8-2 on Saturday night.
Cole Reinhardt and Jeremy Davies scored for the Senators.
The Senators took to the ice in the CAA Arena in front of a sold-out crowd wearing black, red and gold Belleville Bulls jerseys for Belleville Bulls tribute night.
The Americans capitalized on early penalties to score twice in the first frame before the Senators bounced back to grab a goal of their own. In the second, the Americans took three unanswered goals, extending their lead. The Senators came back to score in the final period, but the Americans scored three more times, and took the win.
Senators head coach Dave Bell said that the early penalties hurt their game plan overall.
“I thought Wednesday was probably our best game of the year. But you can’t get too big or too confident, or you get humbled pretty quick and that’s what happened to us this weekend. The lack of discipline to stay with the way we played on Wednesday is concerning to me, but the good thing is we have five days before our next two games to get things back on track.”
The Senators are on the road on Friday to face the Laval Rocket.
