The City of Quinte West is preparing for a long few days as they crunch the numbers on their budget Wednesday and Thursday.
The proposed operational and capital budget combine for a price tag of more than $132 million.
However, that is just a starting point.
As proposed, the capital budget is more than 73 per cent more than 2024, sitting at about $43 million.
The operating budget is seeing a 10 per cent jump over 2024, coming in at $89 million.
There is growth in the municipality, so the increase on last year’s taxes would be about 9.25 per cent, if nothing got cut or borrowed.
It also does not include the $1.57 million announced by the province, for the increased cost to the OPP budget.
