There will be plenty of family-friendly holiday fun this weekend in Quinte West.
The Quinte West Holiday Market takes place Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Quinte West Pop-ups in Centennial Park.
In addition to unique shopping and dining experiences, the Holly Trolley tour will be running on Saturday.
Quinte West Holiday Market hours:
- Saturday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Holiday Market festive fun includes:
- Free pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus
- Visit Santa on Saturday at 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.
- Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Creative winter-themed crafts and cookie decorating for kids, while quantities last
- Live music and entertainment
- Activities and outdoor games, and much more!
Santa’s Shed at the Holiday Market will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items and warm, weather essentials (hats, mitts, socks, etc.) and toiletries this year. Donations collected will be provided to the Trenton Care and Share Food Bank and Community Partners For Success Trenton Resource Centre.
Ride the free Quinte West Holly Trolley between the Holiday Market and the holiday lighting displays in Fraser Park and Frankford Tourist Park on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Highlights along the Holly Trolley route this year include:
- Trolley Stop #1: *NEW* Warm up at the Gingerbread Village upstairs at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena, and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate while taking festive selfies at the many themed photo stations.
- Trolley Stop #2: Stroll through the Quinte West Holiday Market to enjoy more free festive fun Saturday evening.
- Trolley Stop #3: Get on and off the trolley at Frankford Tourist Park to visit Santa’s reindeer, the Frankford vendor village, and the Frankford Christmas fantasy lighting display.
- Trolley Stop #4: Get on and off the trolley at Fraser Park to walk through the Doug Whitney Fantasy of Lights display and enjoy holiday music and alpacas!
Plan ahead for a happy Holly Trolley ride:
- Don’t want to wait for a trolley? Visitors are welcome to walk or drive to each trolley stop and enjoy the festivities.
- The heritage trolleys are not accessible and are not suitable for strollers.
- Free Quinte Access accessible bus service will run along the trolley route during the event.
- Trolley rides start at Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena and Frankford Tourist Park on Saturday at 5 p.m.
- Trolley rides pick up and drop off at all trolley stops approximately every 15 minutes in Trenton and every 30 minutes in Frankford between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
- The last trolley will leave Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena and Frankford Tourist Park at 8:30 p.m.
- Free and accessible parking is available in Centennial Park. Limited parking will be available at Frankford Tourist Park.
