Outdoor space at the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward has really gone to the dogs thanks to the generosity of several local companies.
Humane Society Executive Director Kareen McKinnon says a significant landscaping project has transformed the facility’s outdoor spaces, providing a more welcoming and enriching environment for the dogs in their care.
McKinnon adds, “The dogs now have a wonderful space to explore, exercise, and enjoy. We are profoundly grateful to CDS, Sprouts, Willowlee Sod, Hollandale, Connon Nurseries, and Wentworth Landscaping for their remarkable support.”
The Humane Society says the following businesses donated their time, expertise, and resources to the project:
CDS (Quinte West)
Leading the charge in clearing overgrowth and grading, CDS once again demonstrated their unwavering support for HSHPE. This is not the first time CDS has stepped up for our furry friends. They previously built and donated all the dog walking trails on the property, giving our dogs a safe and stimulating environment for exercise. Their continued support is a testament to their commitment to our mission.
Sprouts Landscape and Masonry Supply (Quinte West)
Sprouts Landscape and Masonry Supply generously donated the soil and mulch needed to refresh our grounds. Their contribution has revitalized the outdoor areas, creating a healthier and more attractive space for both our animals and visitors.
Willowlee Sod (Prince Edward County)
Taking charge of the fine grading, Willowlee Sod went above and beyond by supplying topsoil, hydro-seeding, and planting trees to enhance the landscape. Their expertise not only ensured a polished finish but also coordinated the entire project, helping to bring this vision to life seamlessly.
Hollandale Garden Centre (Quinte West)
Adding to the natural beauty of our grounds, Hollandale Garden Centre kindly donated trees that will provide much-needed shade and comfort for our dogs during their outdoor walks.
Connon Nurseries (Quinte West)
Connon Nurseries contributed a variety of shrubs that have brought new life and color to our outdoor spaces, enhancing the overall aesthetic of our facility.
Wentworth Landscaping (Prince Edward County)
Wentworth Landscaping designed and donated their time and expertise to install all the donated shrubs, ensuring they were placed with care and precision. Their hard work has created a vibrant and welcoming environment for our animals and visitors alike.
