Lennox and Addington OPP have charged three people with 14 criminal charges including impaired driving, in separate incidents.
Just after 3 p.m. on Thursday, a vehicle was seen travelling west on Highway 401 in Greater Napanee, swerving and cutting off other drivers.
Officers stopped the vehicle, and the investigation resulted in the arrest of 53-year-old Shayne Couturnier of Mississauga, and 25-year-old Arshum Hossaini of Toronto.
They are both charged with the following:
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Identity theft – makes, distributes another person’s information
- Possession of a credit card
- Possession of a forged document with intent
- Possession of an identity document
- Possession of cocaine
Both accused are in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on November 29, 2024.
In a second incident, a vehicle was stopped on Highway 41 in Addington Highlands following a traffic complaint from a member of the public.
As a result, 26-year-old Ajay Sunil of Toronto was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – over 80mgs of alcohol
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on December 17, 2024.
