Hastings County is reaching out to Marmora and Lake Township to urge the municipality to make critical repairs to the local arena.
A letter of support for the arena was sent from Warden Bob Mullin to the municipal treasurer on Monday.
In the letter, Warden Bob Mullin spoke about how important the Marmora Arena is to the community. The arena provides physical activity, which helps with both physical and mental wellness, along with providing for social interactions.
The chiller, part of the ice-making equipment, failed earlier this year. The arena has been without an ice surface since, and will need a new chiller before an ice surface can be maintained.
