Deliberations on the proposed 2025 budget outlined in the City of Quinte West’s 2025 Budget Book will begin on December 4.
This year’s budget proposes an average residential tax increase of 9.25%.
In a release, the city says the proposed tax levy would increase municipal taxes by $343 for the average Quinte West residential homeowner in 2025.
The proposed increase will provide the city with additional revenue needed to address the infrastructure deficit, the growing demand for municipal funding from external agencies and community groups, and operating needs.
Of the 9.25%, 4% is the Capital Levy needed to help address costs associated with replacing the city’s aging infrastructure.
Council will review the proposed budget during a two-day special council meeting Dec. 4-5.
