The Snider family is one of 34 families that Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings has assisted in finding a Home for the Holidays over the past three decades. Homeownership starts the process of improving generational wellbeing. The Sniders – Kimberly, Ron and their four daughters – have been Habitat Homeowners for 15 years. Kimberly explains, “We would never have been considered by a bank for home financing at the time, but Habitat PEH did not see us as a risk. When our family first applied for our Habitat home, we were living in a home that was freezing in the winter and sweltering in the summer. There was mold and mildew, and it was small and cramped. When we received the news that we had been chosen for a Habitat home and we were so excited! We had just gotten married in April and were in the process of blending our two families. We found out on Mother’s Day, and it was the best present EVER!”
Dustin Boyer, Director of Operations for Belleville Nissan commented “The Belleville Nissan team have proudly supported Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings for many years, in many ways. When we were provided the opportunity to partner with them for the “Home for the Holidays” campaign, we saw this as another chance to help raise funds and provide stability and self-sufficiency through homeownership in the community we serve.”
Hazzem Koudsi, CEO of Habitat PEH, emphasized “While the holiday season is a time for celebration, many families are struggling with housing costs that exceed their means, preventing them from thriving and building equity as homeowners. At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a safe and decent home, and that housing is a human right. As part of the solution to the housing crisis, our donors have the opportunity to help make a difference by donating to the “Home for the Holidays” campaign. Your donation is a reinvestment back into your community, which helps Habitat families thrive and in turn be able to contribute back to the community so that we can all grow socially and economically stronger – together”.
With your support of the “Home for the Holidays” campaign, Habitat PEH can assist even more dedicated families in our community in achieving the dream of homeownership. Given that there is a Canada-wide postal strike, donors are highly encouraged to visit www.habitatpeh.org/holidays2024 or call our office at 613-966-4884 ext. 207 to support “Home for the Holidays”. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of families now and in the future.
Habitat PEH’s mission is to bring communities together to help families build strength, stability, self-reliance through affordable home ownership.
