Northumberland OPP are continuing to investigate a robbery in Trent Hills.
In October 2024, officers were dispatched to a home on Church Lane in Hastings for a robbery that had just taken place.
The suspects had fled in a dark coloured SUV before police arrived.
A preliminary investigation found that three males had assaulted and threatened a resident.
A mobile phone was taken during the incident and a firearm is also believed to have been brandished during the altercation.
One of the suspects was arrested on October 21, 2024.
On November 25, 2024, the OPP Crime Unit arrested another person related to the incident.
Twenty-six-year-old Emily Wismayer of Trent Hills was arrested and charged with
- Robbery with a firearm
- Assault with a weapon
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Public mischief
- Breach of recognizance
The accused was held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
Police are following a line of enquiry and seeking the whereabouts of another person involved.
Thirty-year-old Dustin Wesenberg of the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand is wanted for assault with a weapon and robbery using a firearm.
Wesenberg is described as 6’2″, 185 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes and is known to frequent areas between the Greater Toronto Area and Montreal.
