Quinte Health is still in the market for nurses and personal support workers but recent recruitment efforts have been paying off.
Tuesday, the board of directors heard that full-time nursing vacancies had declined from 120 to just 50 in the past two years.
Quinte Health President Stacey Daub told Quinte News that the organization is becoming known as a good place to work but the main reasons for the recruitment success are the nursing and PSW programs at Loyalist College.
” … relationship has really helped bring a whole new generation of people who live in our community or who have moved from elsewhere to Quinte Health so it’s been amazing, the inroads we’ve made.”
It’s hoped Loyalist’s new medical radiation technology program will help staff Quinte Health’s Diagnostic Imaging department in the near future.
